ok, i have to admit. i was not crazy about fixed line fishing when i first started.
i was *so* excited to get a tenkara rod and get it on the water.
then when i actually did. . .
i liked it, i just didn't feel that excitement everyone else seemed to have.
i liked the rod.
i liked tying the kebari.
i liked the simplicity.
i liked the feel of the fish.
i just felt like i was missing something.
i even left my tenkara rod at home when i took my first few trout fishing trips earlier in the season.
i just wasn't feeling it.
about a month or so ago, i noticed my kids were really interested in the rod.
my son started fishing my 330 caddis. he caught a couple bluegills and bass and he was hooked.
i gave fixed line fishing another try and i must say that i am really enjoying it. i still drag my 1wt superfine on trips, but i often only use the 330 caddis.
it seems most people either fall in love with this or hate it from the moment they try it. i feel like the exception.
did it take anybody else a little while to "get into" this style of fishing?
